Your apps run on a real Linux server: Ubuntu 24.04 in a virtual machine on your own Mac, with its own disk and normal SSH access. MacServe gives it a public address, issues the HTTPS certificate and routes traffic to it.

macOS carries on as normal. Your files are not shared into it, and you choose how much CPU and memory it may use.

Connect over public SSH.

  1. Open Public access in the panel, find your Mac and choose SSH keys & setup. Paste only the public key from the computer or AI assistant that will connect.
  2. The MacServe app prepares access inside your existing Linux server. Wait for your key to be installed and public forwarding to be confirmed.
  3. The panel gives you the actual Linux username, address, port, trusted host identity and copyable SSH command. Keep your private key on the connecting computer.
